notes from the in-between
There’s something interesting that happens in the months between seasons. Conversations linger a little longer, hot coffee becomes iced, the days become stretched and still, the sweet promise of summer fills the air. Wildflowers cover the hiking trails in mustard yellow, coffee shops start getting more crowded on Saturday mornings. The in-between invites uncertainty and shedding. It’s a good time to do tarot card readings, to spend more time alone, to ask yourself questions, to ask others questions, to clean your closet, to cook something delicious and seasonal.
The in-between can also be a little somber because we are neither here nor there. Things are coming to and end while new things are blooming. Life and death cycles.
May is for messy morning beds, iced lattes, crying at sad movies, writing letters, eating fruit with your fingers, sitting in the sun, acknowledging defeat, and being romantic (even with self).
